Title: Conceptual Series; Velvet goldmine

Subtitle: Because the piece was conceptual, nothing actually happened.

Idea: As a direct reaction to the exhibition where someone had placed a broken ladder and presented this damn ladder with the most Trump-like spacey arty farty deconstructed stilleben mumbo jumbo.

An anti-art babble exhibition of pure ideas.

The artist Huijserius will present  ideas in the style of a classical art exhibition as well as explicitly collected, like an old victorian butterfly collection. Small framed treasures, ideas, unfinished stories and open questions aimed at creating an utterly entertaining as well as satisfying individually experienced images and stories that are meant to affect each in their own way and, like the miracle of Easter where the disciples talked in tongues, the exhibition in total, as well ass each individual piece is aimed to affect that “each one heard their own language being spoken” (Acts 2:1-13). 

The exhibition will consist of between 40 to 50 framed works is a direct rejection of that haughty art babble as well as a direct comment on how central and deeply valuable ideas and how they feed the mind are to art. How beautiful and weird words and ideas are and how they are antonyms to the static image or bland picture painted and at least equal to the painted medium..to the physical piece.

Small notes with brief ideas and images meant to tinder fantasy, make the observer think and laugh and unable not to wonder.

Different in each mind.

Ideas presented on red velvet, held by a small needle like an insect caught. Like the crown jewels of art and life they are.

Required in space, material, PR etc: Bopkes! Maybe a few old frames and a few meters of cheap velvet. The artist is presenting an exhibition series proposed to show its quality by means of word of mouth, and so without trying to hide or pretend not to want to reach people I’d ask for whatever kind of PR you normally do or would find reasonable, nothing at all being absolutely acceptable the first two exhibitions.

The frames that address and are suitable for children will hang at about 1.30m high. The rest at 1.70m.
